Don’t ask me why, but working at the pool is like living in a gossip magazine. There is usually some major drama breaking just when we think things are back to normal. Today was normal.
Then the thermometer in the pool broke and we had to close and clean up the glass. Not a big deal.
Mom went to the water aerobics class tonight. One of the ladies in the class queried her for information. “Is it true that the thermometer broke?”
Yes, we admit it. The thermometer broke.
So why is there drama? Is it the patrons or the lifeguards? Or is there blame on both sides? Usually the best policy is to (pardon my language) shut up. How great a forest a little fire kindles.
