The Vote is Cast Into the Ballot Box…

government particpation, Judge Vaughn Walker, Prop 8, voting, Yes on Prop 8

Today, U.S. District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker has disregarded my “Yes” vote on Prop 8, along with all the other “Yes” votes given by a majority of the people in California. We’re encouraged by intellectuals and politicians to make a difference by letting the government hear our voices through emails, phone calls, protests, votes, and many other methods. I’ve participated in government through most of the choices, and a few others.

On days like today, I wonder if participation, especially voting,  makes much of a difference. I suppose it means something that history will show (perhaps) that Californians voted “Yes” on Prop 8 and that it was a judge who defied the will of the people and claimed that our country’s founding documents say its okay.

It certainly seems that my vote did not matter practically. But I know that God saw my vote and I think it mattered to Him. I think it also matters to Him that I remember now that He sets up and takes down rulers and authorities and gives power to whom He chooses for His own perfect purposes. I don’t need to understand His ways to trust in them. “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.” ~Proverbs 16:33

I learned about this youtube video through ACT! for America and their email notifications. A few Christians at a Muslim festival had picked up a pamphlet from a booth titled “Got Questions? Get Answers.” The Christians tried to ask a question about the pamphlet while video-recording the response but were driven from the festival by a mob of security guards who refused to have any video-recording going on.

This is a video I received in an email from ACT! for America. Watch as a Muslim leader gives a speech urging people to oppose Arab journalists who write against “the resistance”. I’m not sure who this guy is…but he’s not alone in his opinions. He praised American “racist rednecks” who belong to the Ku Klux Klan and supposedly want to blow up American nuclear power plants. He praised terrorists and thought it would a good idea to send those courageous Muslim heroes who want to help the resistance up from Mexico to decimate cities with four lbs. of anthrax in a suitcase. The Muslim leader also said that it was ridiculous for anyone to advocate diologues with “the resistance”. Whoever says so should have their tongues cut out! Does President Obama know that this is their attitude? I hope that the White House takes terrorism and the Islamic religion more seriously than I give them credit for. I usually think that there is a huge disconnect between reality and government in this area. Oh well, it’s a peaceful religion with peaceful ideas and peaceful plans to peacefully incorporate all peoples into their peaceful world kingdom.

Signs and rumors…but God is the one who sets up and removes kings.
